Restatements (Questions 9-12)
This part consists of several sentences, each followed by four possible ways of restating the
main idea of that sentence in different words. For each question, choose the one restatement
which best expresses the meaning of the original sentence.
9. The lemming, a small rodent, is the snowy owl's main prey.
(1) The snowy owl hunts mostly small rodents called lemmings.
(2) Both snowy owls and lemmings hunt small rodents.
(3) Lemmings are the only rodents eaten by the snowy owl.
(4) Snowy owls eat rodents and lemmings.
10. It is a fallacy that sharks are immune to disease.
(1) No one knows why sharks are resistant to disease.
